Fire broke out in a truck carrying the board's 12th question paper, all were gutted

Mumbai: All the question papers were gutted when a truck carrying question papers of all the subjects of the Class 12th (HSC) Maharashtra Board examination caught fire in Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra last Wednesday morning. Officials said that the question papers of the Pune division of Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) were being transported from MP to Maharashtra when the truck caught fire.  

It is worth noting that the offline examination for the 12th class of the state board is scheduled to start from March 4. In this regard, the chairman of the board Sharad Gosavi said, "A truck carrying the class 12 question paper set suddenly caught fire near Sangamner Ghat in Ahmednagar district. Due to the fire, boxes containing question papers of all subjects were destroyed and scattered on the road.”

On the same issue, Ahmednagar Superintendent of Police Manoj Patil said that the matter took place at around 7 am. He further said on the incident that, according to the initial Tahrir, when the truck was moving, dangerous smoke started coming out of it. The driver and the other occupants immediately jumped out of the truck. Soon, as soon as the truck was seen, the fire broke out and all the question papers were burnt. Patil said that on receiving information about the fire, police and firemen immediately rushed to the ghat site and the fire was brought under control. The case is currently under investigation.
