Bangalore: The Karnataka High Court has asked the state government to provide complete details about the role of the Campus Front of India (CFI) in the hijab controversy. The high court passed the order after senior advocate SS Naganand, appearing for the government college, said that the hijab case was initiated by some girl students belonging to the CFI.
Following this, the Advocate General has said that all the information about the CFI is enclosed in the envelope and will be handed over to the court soon. After seeking permission from the college principal to come to the class wearing a hijab, six girls had arrived at a news conference of the CFI, which was held in Udupi. The counsel appearing for the principal of the college said that the girls were wearing a hijab on the college campus, but went to the class and took off the hijab.
The counsel for the college further said, "There was no rule in the institute about whether to wear or not to wear a hijab, but for the last 35 years, no one was wearing a hijab in the class. The girl students who have demanded for this are related to an outside organization and this has been done at their behest.''
