New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said on Saturday that giving maximum facilities to soldiers defending India's borders is the government's top concern. Addressing an event organised by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), he stated maintaining the development of border areas is a vital aspect of the government's comprehensive defence strategy. "Our primary objective is to provide the best possible facilities to people who work for our security, who are the guardians of this country's border," Singh added. The defence minister also praised the BRO for enhancing infrastructure in the country's border regions. Singh used the development of the northeastern region as an example, saying it has now become a "new gateway" for the country's general development. "Roads have played a critical role in the development of human civilization. "Whether it's education or health, trade or food supply, army strategic demands, industry, or other responsibilities of socio-economic advancement, roads and bridges play a critical role," he stated.
