Defence minister Rajnath Singh unveils 75 AI-enabled military products

New Delhi:  Rajnath Singh, the Union Defense Minister, introduced 75 brand-new Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies on Monday at the inaugural "AI in Defence" conference and exhibition held in New Delhi by the Ministry of Defence.

The products that were launched as a part of the "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav" celebrations cover a range of topics. Lethal autonomous weapon systems; autonomous/unmanned/robotic systems; block chain-based automation; command, control, communication, computer & intelligence; surveillance and reconnaissance; cyber security; human behaviour analysis; intelligent monitoring systems; manufacturing and maintenance; simulators/test equipment; and speech/voice analysis using Natural Language Processing are some of these.

The Artificial intelligence-enabled Voice Transcription or Analysis software developed by Bharat Electronics Limited, the Driver Fatigue Monitoring System developed by Bharat Earth Movers Limited, and the AI-enabled evaluation of Welding defects in X-rays of Non-destructive Testing software developed by Bharat Electronics Limited all have dual-use applications and good market potential. 

During the event, testing created by Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers was screened. These goods are anticipated to give the Defense PSUs access to new markets.
