New Delhi: The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in the country's capital Delhi has informed that contact tracing of health workers exposed to coronavirus disease is being stopped in view of inadequate resources and staff shortage of hospitals amid corona epidemic. According to the Delhi AIIMS notice, it has also been instructed to stop quarantine without symptoms. The hospital has said that from now on, only symptom-showing health workers should be tested and only those found infected should be isolated as per clinical protocol. India on Thursday confirmed the highest number of corona infected patients in a day across the world, with the second wave of the epidemic scarcity of the country's weak health structure. Hospitals in Delhi are also facing acute shortage of medical oxygen, with more than 26,000 new cases found here on Thursday as well. A review meeting of Corona was held at 8:30 am on Thursday under the leadership of Director Randeep Guleria at Delhi AIIMS, in which new instructions for health workers were issued. According to the AIIMS report, "Given the current state of the corona, insufficient resources for contact tracing and staff shortages, risk management, and tracing of health workers exposed to untreated infectives should be discontinued.
