Hathras rape case is a shame for the country, culprits should be hanged: Arvind Kejriwal

New Delhi: A gang rape incident took place in the past day with a young woman from Hathras in Uttar Pradesh. On Tuesday, the young woman succumbed to her injuries at Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi during treatment. There is resentment all over the country about the incident and everyone is demanding stringent punishment for the culprits. In a tweet, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said, the culprits should be sentenced to death as soon as possible.

Speaking on the incident, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said the death of Hathras rape case is a shame for the entire society, the country and all governments. Sadly, so many daughters are being raped and we are not able to protect our daughters. The culprits should be sentenced to death as soon as possible. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Saurabh Bhardwaj has also tweeted on the incident and wrote, "Can we think there are many cases in Uttar Pradesh where girls are raped and their tongues are cut off. This is plight of daughters of this country under the rule of Thakur Ajay Singh Bisht". 

Earlier, Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh had also taken over the Yogi government on the issue. In a tweet, Sanjay Singh wrote, "Where is Yogi government? Small girls are being raped and brutally murdered, the accused is still roaming openly. The daughter of Hathras, left this world, and how many daughters would fall victim to such incidents?"
