New Delhi: Environment Minister Gopal Rai today started a massive campaign to plant trees, save the environment by planting trees in the nursery at ITO near Yamuna Bank, Delhi's capital. During this, officers and employees of other departments including the forest department were also present. During this, Environment Minister Gopal Rai said that the Kejriwal government of Delhi has decided to plant double (31 lakh) saplings instead of the target of 1.5 million plantations received from the central government. This Maha Abhiyan of the fortnight, which runs till 26 July, has been started from today. He said that under this campaign about 20 lakh big plants will be planted and about 11 lakh small shrubs, small plants, and medicine plants will be planted. Any citizen of Delhi can help in saving the environment by getting free saplings from 14 nurseries of the forest department.
