Unnao Rape Case: Court's hearing to be held in AIIMS to record victim's statement

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has given permission to the investigating agency to record the statement of the victim of the Unnao rape case. The High Court has allowed the rape victim to record her statement at the trauma centre of AIIMS. The Delhi High Court has said in its order that Special Judge Dharmesh Sharma, who is hearing the cases, will record the testimony of the victim.

The Delhi High Court notifies states that Chief Justice DN Patel and High Court judges have ordered "Special Judge Dharmesh Sharma to record the statement of the victim in the premises or building of the Trauma Center of AIIMS besides the Tis Hazari Court complex. The victim and her lawyer are currently undergoing treatment at AIIMS. The victim's statement will be recorded at the AIIMS.

Earlier on September 6, the Supreme Court had directed the Delhi High Court to file a special hearing at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in the national capital to record the victim's statement in the Unnao rape case.
