Srinagar: A case of treason has been registered against Kashmiri social worker Shehla Rashid. This case has been registered in Jammu and Kashmir regarding his statement regarding alleged human rights violations. The Special Cell of Delhi Police has said that an FIR has been registered on September 3. A sedition case was registered under a criminal complaint on the complaint of Supreme Court lawyer Alok Srivastava seeking Shehla's arrest.

A senior police officer said, 'Section 124-A (sedition), 153-A (promoting enmity) of Indian Penal Code for tweeting false information about alleged military action in Kashmir Valley against Shehla Rashid, Cases have been registered under 504 (knowingly committing insults for the purpose of breaching peace) and 505 (making inflammatory statements to cause nuisance). A complaint was filed against him by Supreme Court lawyer Alakh Alok Shrivastava.

Now Shehla Rashid has also reacted to this. Shehla Rashid described the sedition case against her as 'trivial', 'politically motivated' and a pathetic attempt to silence her. Shehla expressed her response via tweet. She had said that human rights are being violated and people are being tortured in Kashmir.
