New Delhi: The Delhi High Court on Saturday took cognizance of the violent clash between police and lawyers. The court has issued notices to the Bar Association of all the districts including the Central Government, Delhi Government, Bar Association of India and High Court in this matter. The Chief Justice has asked the Delhi Police Commissioner to investigate and submit the report within six weeks. A bench of Chief Justice DN Patel and C Hari Shankar resumed the hearing for the remaining three in the evening. The court asked the police how many FIRs have been registered in this case so far. On this, Rahul Mehra, appearing on behalf of the police, said that a total of four FIRs have been registered in this case. Rahul Mehra told the court that 21 policemen, 8 lawyers have been injured in the violent clashes on Saturday. The injured include additional DCP and two SHOs. Violent clashes have burned 14 bikes, police car, and eight prisoner vehicles. On behalf of the police told that SIT has been formed to investigate the matter. Earlier, Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik had a meeting with the judges of the court in the Delhi High Court regarding this matter. After the meeting, it was decided that the court will hear the case of the fight between the lawyers and the police. Additional Judge Pinky visited the spot on Sunday. After the violent clash between police and lawyers in Tis Hazari Court, the Lok Adalat which was held on Sunday has also been cancelled.
