Delhi High Court refuses to ban 'Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl' telecast

The Delhi High Court has refused to ban the broadcast of the Netflix movie 'Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl'. The Center had said in its petition that this movie is showing the wrong image of Indian Air Force. Justice Rajiv Shakdhar asked the Center why they did not approach the court before the movie was screened on the 'Over the top' stage. No order can be passed now because the movie has been released.

On behalf of the Center, Additional Solicitor General Sanjay Jain said, "The image of the Indian Air Force is being tarnished in the movie because it shows that there is a gender difference in force, which is not fair." The High Court has sought answers from 'Dharma Production Private Limited' and Netflix on the Centre's plea urging the film to stop airing. The court said that former flight lieutenant Gunjan Saxena should be made a party in the case, and issued a notice to her and sought an answer from her.

The movie 'Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl' was released on August 12 on the OTT stage. Due to Coronavirus pandemic, the shooting of films had stalled for a long time, and after a long time, work has started again. In the meantime, these kinds of situations have created a crisis in the film world. It is now to see what will be the final decision on this. At present, the reply of Gunjan Saxena is awaited.
