New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has agreed to hear a petition seeking early closure of work on the ongoing Central Vista project amid the crisis of the Corona epidemic. The petition filed in the court said that its construction work should be stopped to save the lives of the workers and others involved in the project amidst the corona epidemic. A part of the Modi government's ambitious Central Vista project is scheduled to be ready by December 2022. The project is being constructed to mark 75 years of Independence. However, even after the lockdown in Delhi, the work is continuing and has been kept under the purview of essential services. Opposition parties are also strongly opposing it. Congress National General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi has also attacked the government over the project amid the corona crisis. Priyanka tweeted, "When the people of the country are facing shortage of oxygen, vaccine, hospital beds, medicines, it would be better if the government put all the resources in the work of saving lives instead of constructing a new PM's house from Rs 13,000 crore. Such expenses send a message to the public that the priorities of the Government are in some other direction".
