The Delhi Police have detained a 34-year-old man for attempting to break into an ATM using a 'tawa' (frying pan). Ashad Ali, a resident of Uttam Nagar in Delhi, was identified as the suspect, according to police. According to the police, the incident occurred on Thursday after police were notified of an attempt to break into an ATM in Uttam Nagar. A police crew arrived at the spot based on the information, but the suspect had fled. Following additional inquiry, a resident of Uttam Nagar was located, and a FIR was filed under sections 380 and 511 of the Indian Penal Code. To hunt down the offender, around 450-475 CCTV cameras and footage were verified and analysed. A resident was questioned after the footage revealed that the suspect's involvement in the theft attempt, and the police were notified.
