New Delhi: A preliminary investigation by the police into the lynching of cow-smugglers in the Chhawla area of the national capital has revealed that the farmhouse from where the cow's remains were recovered had been in the dock for nearly four-and-a-half years. The farmhouse is located one km away from the Chhawla police station, but the police did not even know about it. When the cow killing was reported in the farmhouse, people reached there even before the police. They surrounded the people who were going there and thrashed them. Arshad, Shanu, Ranjit, Rajaram and Santosh were among those injured in the beating. Rajaram later died and Arshad is being treated at Safdarjung Hospital. The police officer said that after receiving information about the cow killing at a farmhouse at 2.15 pm on Sunday, Chhawla police reached the spot. Where a mob of 15-20 people were beating some people. The police rescued the people from the crowd and rushed them to the local hospital, from where they referred Arshad to Safdarjung Hospital.
