Delhi Police Busted Interstate Illegal weapon trade Syndicate, 4 arrested

New Delhi: A group dealing in illegal weapons was busted by the Delhi Police on Friday, and four criminals were caught in the process, according to an official. Deputy Commissioner of Police Benita Mary Jaiker said the Narcotics Squad staff in the South District kept a close eye on public vehicle traffic and set up roadblocks at strategic areas on a regular basis.

They received information about an individual involved in the supply of illegal firearms on November 18. "Police received more information about the person from social media platforms," the officer said.

Following a tip regarding the accused's whereabouts near a primary school in Rajpur Khurd, the police squad set up a trap and captured two people, Pawan and Ankit. During the search, two firearms were discovered in their possession, one of which was a country-made pistol with five live cartridges.

The couple admitted to purchasing the rifles and ammo from a man named Raju after being interrogated for a long time. Raju and another guy, known as Manish, were also arrested at their request. One revolver and one long barrel pistol with four live ammunition, as well as a motorcycle used to carry the weapons, were recovered at Raju and Manish's request.
