Delhi Police bust gang using children for theft in weddings

New Delhi: The crime branch of the Delhi Police has uncovered a gang that carried out the robbery at weddings. Police has arrested seven people in this case, in which two minors have also been arrested. The crime branch had been receiving theft complaints at weddings for several days. On the basis of complaints, when the crime branch started the investigation, a gang from Madhya Pradesh got into the hands of the police.

According to the information given by the police, the people of this gang used to hire children from their parents for a year to steal. After that, children were taught the tricks of theft. How to go to weddings, how to dress and how to talk to whom, all these things were trained. If the crime branch is believed, then 10 to 12 lakh rupees were given to the parents in return for the children. In the investigation till now, the police claimed to have solved many cases. This includes cases of theft in marriage ceremonies in Ludhiana, Zirakpur and Chandigarh. The police have also seized 4 lakh rupees out of the stolen money from the arrested accused.

According to DCP Crime Branch Bhishma Singh, there were many cases of theft in weddings in Delhi and NCR. The crime branch was working on the same matters. The CCTV and video footage of the marriages where the incidents of theft took place were being closely investigated. Two minor boys were identified based on the footage.
