New Delhi: Delhi Police Special Cell on Sunday filed a charge sheet against Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) alumnus Umar Khalid and Sharjeel Imam on charges of plotting violence in the country's capital in February. In the UAPA charge sheet, the Delhi Police has made many allegations against Umar Khalid and Sharjeel Imam. The chargesheet of Delhi Police claimed that in protest against Anti CAA Protest and NRC, Sharjeel Imam formed a group on 5-6 February with JNU students. The group was named MSJ i.e. Muslim Student of JNU. It has been claimed in the charge sheet that 70 people were added to the group. Most of them were students of JNU. It has been said in the charge sheet that even though Sharjeel had formed this group, the mind behind it was that of Umar Khalid. It has been alleged in the charge sheet that incitements were written in this group. The news and strategy of the Protest Site made in Delhi were decided from moment to moment. At present, many members of this group have been questioned by the Special Cell of Delhi Police. His statement has been recorded which is part of the charge sheet.
