Delhi Case: No proof yet to confirm 9-year-old was raped, Rahul raises questions

New Delhi: Delhi Police has told a local court that no evidence has been found so far to confirm that the 9-year-old girl was raped at Delhi cantonment in the southwest of the capital. There were also allegations of rape of a 9-year-old girl after she was murdered in the Delhi Cantt area. Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi had raised the issue strongly and also met the family members of the deceased girl.

On the other hand, the Investigation Officer (IO), who is now investigating the case, told the court that the statements of the four accused revealed that Radhe Shyam and Kuldeep Singh, 55-year-old cremation staff, had raped and then murdered the girl. Two other accused Salim Ahmed and Laxmi Narayan had assisted the two accused in cremating the body of the deceased. Both of them work as employees in the same crematorium. In an order dated August 12, the court noted, "IO has admitted that no direct witnesses' statements or other evidence, or medical-scientific evidence, have been found to confirm whether the girl was raped or not. '

IO said they cannot clearly confirm whether the girl was raped or not. State that the statements of the accused are not recognized in the court till any other evidence is found to confirm the same. Special Judge Ashutosh Kumar has ordered rs 2.5 lakh as 'interim relief' to the mother of the deceased girl.
