Good news for Delhi residents, DMRC started e-rickshaws at 12 new metro stations

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has introduced a new gift for Delhi residents. To make travel by Metro Rail convenient and pollution-free, DMRC has started e-rickshaws at 12 new metro stations. Delhi Metro Rail Director AK Garg has flagged off 250 electric rickshaws from Patel Nagar Metro station. With this, the number of metro stations with electric rickshaws in Delhi has increased to 29 and a total of 1000 e-rickshaws are serving their service at metro stations.

It is worth noting that these e-rickshaws are being run from 6 am to 11 pm keeping in mind the convenience of residents and commuters traveling in the metro. The metro stations in which service has started include Ghitorni, Qutub Minar, Arjangarh, Nawada, Patel Nagar, Nangloi, Moolchand, Harkesh Nagar Okhla and Botanical Garden. At present, more than 800 e-rickshaws from 17 metro stations in Delhi are serving more than 1 lakh passengers every day. 500 new e-rickshaws will be launched in the next 2-3 months to enhance connectivity to metro stations. These smart e-rickshaws are equipped with GPS and provide connectivity over an area of 3-4 km, especially around metro stations. The fare for the e-rickshaw service has been kept at a base price of Rs 10 for the first 2 km and Rs 5 for each km later. Passengers can book e-rickshaws through the smart app and pay for the service digitally.
