Delhi Traffic Alert: Avoid These Routes Due to Heavy Rain and Waterlogging

Delhi experienced severe waterlogging following heavy rainfall early Tuesday morning, leading to significant traffic congestion. In response to the situation, the Delhi Traffic Police have issued a series of advisories to help commuters navigate the affected areas.

Traffic Diversions and Advisories:

Rohtak Road: Due to potholes and waterlogging, traffic is disrupted on Rohtak Road between Nangloi and Tikri Border. A cluster bus broke down near Pillar No 510, causing additional delays. Commuters are advised to avoid Mundka and seek alternate routes.

Connaught Place and Surrounding Areas: Traffic diversions are in effect at Connaught Place outer circle, Minto Road, A Point (ITO Chowk), Rohtak Road, and Geeta Colony. Alternate routes have been established to ease congestion.

Minto Road Traffic: Vehicles coming from Connaught Place can be diverted via Outer Circle Connaught Place, Barakhamba Road, and Ranjeet Singh Flyover towards Turkman Gate/Kamla Market.

Kamla Market Traffic: Traffic from R/A Kamla Market on Minto Road can be redirected via DDU Marg towards Connaught Place through Ranjeet Singh Flyover.

Tilak Marg Traffic: Traffic from W-Point/Tilak Marg will be redirected from IP Marg to Bahadurshah Zafar Marg (BSZ Marg).

Deen Dayal Upadhyay Marg Traffic: Vehicles coming from DDU Marg and Delhi Gate will be redirected from IP Marg to Bahadurshah Zafar Marg (BSZ Marg).

Peeragarhi Route: Commuters traveling from Bahadurgarh to Peeragarhi should use the Jharodha-Najafgarh route or UER-II, then Najafgarh-Nangloi Road.

From Peeragarhi: Those heading to Bahadurgarh or Tikri Border should take the Outer Ring Road to District Centre Janakpuri and then Najafgarh.

Rajghat Traffic: Commuters can use the Rajghat Side towards ISBT Kashmiri Gate.

Trans Yamuna and Rajghat Depot: Barricading at the loop approaching Outer Ring Road on Raja Ram Kohli Marg may affect traffic.

Weather Forecast: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted widespread light to moderate rainfall across Delhi and southwest NCR. A moderate-to-intense spell of rain is expected in Central and East Delhi during the morning hours.
