New Delhi: The MET department has issued an orange alert in view of the possibility of rain in Delhi. The alert has been issued by the department for Friday. However, intermittent rainfall has been predicted till 23rd August. It is likely that most of the temperature will come down to 32 degrees Celsius in three to four days due to rain. The MET department has predicted light rain or drizzle till Thursday evening while the maximum temperature is likely to be 36 degrees Celsius. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that 70 percent humidity was recorded at 8.30 am and the minimum temperature was 27.5 degrees Celsius, one degree above normal. Earlier on Wednesday, the minimum temperature was recorded at 38 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature was 27.4 degrees Celsius. Weather experts say that the last 10 days of the month may receive good rainfall, which is expected to compensate for the reduction in rainfall in the national capital so far. Delhi normally receives 247.7 mm rainfall in August. The Meteorological Department had predicted normal rainfall in Delhi this month. Delhi recorded only 63.2 mm of rainfall this month as against the normal 157.1 mm of rainfall as Delhi and its adjoining areas of northwest India entered the 'break-in monsoon' phase for the second time on 10 August.
