The motive behind this was to eliminate black money from the country. In the last one year, the trend of Rs 2,000 notes in India has declined sharply. But the number of 500 notes has gone up. There has been a decrease of 7.2 crores in the number of 2000 rupees in the year 2018-19. RBI To Issue Rs 100 Varnish Note In the last financial year, the number of notes of Rs.2,000 came down to Rs.329 crore. Coming to the Rs 500 note, the number was Rs 1,546 crore in the financial year 2017-18, which increased to Rs 2,151 crore in 2018-19. The number of notes of Rs 500 has increased during a year. According to RBI data, there has been a sharp increase in the number of fake currency notes in the country.
