Dibrugarh to Imphal in just 1.15 hours, direct flight started

Guwahati: Dibrugarh in eastern Assam has now joined Manipur's capital Imphal with a new flight. IndiGo flight number 6E 7948 will connect Kolkata and Imphal to Dibrugarh every day. It will take about 1 hour 15 minutes to reach Imphal from Dibrugarh. An official said that the domestic flight has started flying on Monday under the Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS).

Dibrugarh already has flights to Agartala (Tripura) and Dimapur (Nagaland) besides Guwahati. This is the third flight to start its operation from Dibrugarh under RCS. Airport director R Awasthi said the increase in the number of flights to various destinations is making Dibrugarh an aviation hub. Airport Director R Awasthi said that at present nine flights are departing from Dibrugarh airport, which handles 1,200 passengers every day. He said that once the ban is lifted, the airport will reach its pre-covid level air traffic development.
