Diesel price in Hyderabad crosses Rs 100 per litre-mark

HYDERABAD: On Wednesday, the price of diesel in Hyderabad surpassed Rs 100 per litre. The price of diesel has risen to Rs 100.70 a litre following the recent increase in fuel costs.

The price of diesel was increased by 87 paise per litre, while the price of petrol was increased by 90 paise per litre. Petrol has now increased in price to Rs 114.51 per litre.

Following the price hike on Wednesday, the price of petrol in Delhi is now Rs 101.01 per litre, and the price of diesel is Rs 92.27. The price of petrol in Mumbai has risen to Rs 115.88 a litre, while the price of diesel has risen to Rs 100.10 per litre. Petrol costs Rs 106.69 per litre in Chennai, while diesel costs Rs 96.76 per litre. The new fuel and diesel rates in Kolkata are Rs 110.52 and Rs 95.42 per litre, respectively.

Fuel costs fluctuate depending on the value-added tax (VAT) and transportation expenses from state to state and city to city. Since March 22, oil firms have started raising prices every day. The pricing were not changed till the 24th of March.

There has been a daily hike of over 90 paise per litre. Prices have risen by Rs 5.60 per litre in the last nine days as a result of this. Last year, the price of petrol in Hyderabad hit the Rs 100 barrier on June 14, while the price of diesel crossed the Rs 100 mark on October 7.
