Digvijay Singh's tweet makes uproar, BJP files police complaint

Bhopal: The BJP has objected to a tweet from former Madhya Pradesh CM and veteran Congress leader Digvijay Singh following the hathras incident and the death of the rape victim. The BJP has petitioned the Gwalior police against Digvijay Singh. Digvijay Singh tweeted a photo on hathras case on Thursday and wrote "Yogi Adityanath resigns".

The tweet had a picture of a girl standing in the field and a photograph lying on a ventilator. On the shared picture, it was written' Jubaan Ek Beti Ki Kati or Gunga Pura Desh Ho Gya' ( The tongue of a daughter was cut-off and the whole country has become dumb." On the tweet, Madhya Pradesh BJP IT and social media department state convener Shivraj Singh Doe has complained to the Gwalior Superintendent of Police against Digvijay Singh for making victim's photo public of Hathras rape victim  under sections 228 (a) and 420.

In the petition, Shivraj Doe has said that there is a clear provision under Section 228(a) of the Indian Penal Code regarding non-public identification of the rape victim in which the act is a serious offence. The application says that the simple picture of the girl child has been inserted in the post made by Digvijay Singh.  The photograph is not of hathras girl but of a girl from Chandigarh who died 2 years ago. The BJP has alleged that former CM Digvijay Singh has tarnished the image of the victim and her family for gaining cheap popularity.
