THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a fit of rage on Friday following a domestic dispute, a man from Kerala severed his wife's hand and cut the fingers off the other hand with a knife. Around 9:30 a.m., the event took place in Kanakkary, near Kottayam, said local village councillor. Locals claim that Pradeep and his wife Manju have been at odds for the previous few days. There have been fights in the past between the couple since Pradeep has a history of drinking. He used to apologise and make promises to behave after every conflict, but he quickly reverted to his argumentative ways. "When I arrived at their house after learning about the event, Manju was lying in a pool of blood. Manju was rushed to the Kottayam Medical College Hospital right away. We are told that the surgery is going on with the doctors trying to attach the cut hand," said the councillor. A 10-year-old daughter and a 13-year-old boy belong to the couple. Their daughter attempted to stop Pradeep from beating his wife but only received minor wounds. Pradeep fled the scene on a 2-wheeler and the police have launched a manhunt to catch him.
