Domicile certificate information will be available online

In Jammu and Kashmir, people have started getting domicile certificates online. Now applicants will not need to go to any office. Tariq and Alia of Baramulla district in North Kashmir are the first two applicants who have got Domicile certificate on e-mode. Lieutenant Governor GC Murmu has launched an e-app on Monday to issue Domicile certificate and its application. This application has been developed by Jammu Kashmir e-Governance Agency (JKEGA).

For your information, let us tell you that with the restoration of online issuance of Domicile Certificate, the number of government services available online for the common citizens under the Government to Citizen (G2C) has become 27 in the state. In a simple ceremony at Raj Bhavan, the Lt. Governor released the application in the presence of Chief Secretary BVR Subrahmanyam and Principal Secretary to Lt. Governor and Bipul Pathak, Administrative Secretary, Department of Information Technology.

Apart from this, District Deputy Commissioner of Baramulla GN Ittu and other senior administrative officials participated in it through video conference. Alia Tariq, daughter of Tariq Ahmed Langu, who lives in Sopore in Baramulla, has become the first citizen to receive domicile on e-mode. Applicants holding local citizenship certificate in Jammu and Kashmir can also apply online for Domicile Certificate on the basis of Aadhaar number. They will get Domicile certificate without going to any office through this application. At the same, the Lt. Governor said that in all rural and areas where there are no Aadhar registration counters, these counters should be made. Taking the services of community information centers and common service centers, they can be used as a nodal point for applicants. In these places they will get all kinds of technical help to fill the form.
