'Don't worry, population control law will come soon...', Modi's minister makes big claim

Lucknow: Prahlad Singh Patel, a minister in the Modi government, on Tuesday said that a law for population control will be enacted soon. This was stated by Union Food Processing Industries Minister Prahlad Singh when asked about the Population Control Act. He said that, soon it will be brought, don't worry. When strong and big decisions of this type have been taken, the rest will also be taken. Let us know that he had reached Raipur to attend the Garib Kalyan Sammelan in Baraunda.

In fact, Patel's claim becomes even more important at such times. Because, recently, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya had said in Parliament that the government has successfully used awareness and health campaigns to achieve population control and there is no need for legislation. Mandaviya cited the data as saying, "This shows that the government's policies on population control are without the use of force.   They are working by making it mandatory and through awareness. Several MPs from opposition parties had also opposed the population control bill.

However, BJP leaders, including members of Parliament, have been insisting from time to time on enacting a law to regulate the population. The Population Control Bill is under intense parliamentary debate. Let us know that since independence, the two-child policy has been introduced in Parliament more than 35 times, but it has failed to become a law.
