Mumbai: A show cause notice has been issued to Union Minister Narayan Rane again for his bungalow 'Aadish' in Juhu, Mumbai. This notice has been issued in the case of violation of Coastal Regulation Zone. According to the notice, the construction of the bungalow has been done in excess of the approved Floor Space Index (FSI). He has been asked to appear before the Mumbai Suburban Collector on June 10 at 11 am in this matter.

It has also been told in the notice that if he does not appear in this matter, then appropriate action will be taken. This notice has been issued on 24th May. This action has been taken on the complaint of Secretary, Maharashtra Coastal Zone Management and Environment Direct. Earlier, BMC has also given notice of demolition action claiming illegal construction in Rane's bungalow.

According to the notice, the FSI permission was granted by the Union Environment Ministry on July 11, 2007, according to which, the BMC allowed FSI of 2810.80 square metres. The BMC's investigation report has revealed that 4272.41 square meters have been constructed in the bungalow, which means 1461.61 square meters were built more in violation of the rules. According to the notice, in the meeting of the District Level Coastal Management Committee held on May 17, it was decided to issue a show cause notice after discussing the violation of the rules. Earlier, the Maharashtra government had issued an order to demolish Narayan Rane's bungalow on March 21. However, Kalka Real Estate had approached the High Court against the order of demolition of the bungalow, thereafter, the government withdrew the order.
