Drones and dogs will make liquor prohibition successful, CM Nitish has made this plan

Patna: Bihar CM Nitish Kumar has been embroiled in the issue of upholding his decision to ban liquor for a long time now. In fact, recently there have been reports of deaths of persons due to consumption of illicit liquor in many districts of Bihar. The opposition is constantly attacking Nitish over this. Meanwhile, now the strategy that the Nitish government has devised to make prohibition a success, drones and dogs have been included in it.

Nitish Kumar has asked the excise department officials to explore the possibility of using drones and trained dogs to nab those who break the protocol of prohibition. According to sources, Nitish has said that the police should start using dog squads and motorboats to crack down on violators.

It is worth mentioning that the ban on the sale and consumption of liquor in Bihar has been in force since April 2016. In Bihar, the ban was imposed by Nitish Kumar after winning the 2016 elections. Nitish had then said that the women of the state had complained to him about liquor shops and his decision was in view of the demand of these women. However, in the last few years, due to these restrictions, the illegal trade of liquor has been promoted. Apart from this, there have also been several incidents of deaths of persons due to consumption of spurious liquor. Since December 2021, more than 50 people have died due to the consumption of spurious liquor in the state. For this, the state government also had to face the wrath of the people.
