Bangalore: The hijab issue in Karnataka has now reached educational institutions other than college and is taking the form of a religious frenzy. When a girl arrived at PU college in Karnataka wearing a hijab, she was opposed by some people wearing saffron scarfs. In the meantime, slogans began from both sides. The Karnataka High Court is also hearing four petitions in the same case.

Hearing the petitions on Tuesday, the high court said the court will not go by one's own sentiments but according to the Constitution. For the court, the Constitution is 'Gita' He said that whatever the decision is, it will be applicable to all the petitions. At the same time, advocate Devdutt Kamat, appearing for the petitioner, told the court that wearing the hijab is an important part of Muslim culture. After this, the Advocate General said that the colleges have been given the freedom to choose the uniform. Students who have any problem should contact the College Development Committee.

The controversy over hijab in Karnataka started when some girl students in Udupi were not allowed to enter the class due to wearing hijab. The college said that a uniform is in force here, so people wearing different dresses will not be allowed to sit in the college. Those girls have filed a petition against it in the High Court. They argued that not allowing wearing the hijab in this manner is a violation of fundamental rights and is a violation of Articles 14 and 25.
