Ranchi: In a case of raping a minor in Dumka district of Jharkhand, District Adalat has sentenced the convict to life imprisonment. Along with this, the court has also imposed a fine of 20 thousand rupees. The Bench of Special Judge cum First Additional District Judge Tawfikul Hasan has sentenced the accused to life imprisonment. The case of 2016, where a minor was raped by Manoj Kumar Singh, the father of three children, and later continued to make physical relations by convincing the victim of marriage. In the meantime, the minor also gave birth to a child. After this, the girl was tortured for marriage, then Manoj assaulted her and took the victim away from there. After which the victim had filed a case in the Mufassil police station in 2018. The prosecution presented a total of 11 witnesses in the court, on the basis of which the court sentenced Manoj Kumar Singh to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 20,000. Non-payment of the fine will result in imprisonment for three years. Public prosecutor Dinesh Kumar Ojha was from the prosecution side, while advocate Varun Mandal advocated the case from the defense side.
