Earthquake tremors felt in Assam's Morigaon for the second time in a week

Guwahati: Tremors struck Morigaon in Assam at 6.13 am on Friday. The intensity of this shock is recorded at 2.8 on the Richter scale. During the shock, people came out of their homes in panic and there was panic. However, no damage has been reported from this shock. Earlier, yesterday, may 6, an earthquake struck Tezpur in Assam in the morning. The magnitude of the earthquake was recorded at 3.6 on the Richter scale (Richter Scale).

It may be recalled that in the last few days, tremors have been felt continuously in Assam. Tremors were felt in Sonitpur in the state on April 29. The intensity of this shock was measured at 3.6 on the Richter scale. On April 28, a day before that, sonitpur also received tremors with a magnitude of 6.4 on the Richter scale. There are 7 plates inside the earth, which are constantly rotating. Sometimes these plates collide and turn the corners of the plates due to repeated collisions. When there is more pressure, the plates begin to break down and the energy below finds a way out and earthquakes occurs.
