Easing curbs, Karnataka State Transport to restart bus services to Tamil Nadu from today

Keeping into consideration the significant decline in Covid-19 cases,  Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC)  announced that bus services to Tamil Nadu will restart from today (August 23).  The services to Tamil Nadu were stopped on April 27 this year due to COVID restrictions. As per the information from the KSRTC, around 250 buses will be operated to different destinations.

Bus services to Tamil Nadu from Karnataka were stopped on April 27 this year due to COVID restrictions. Earlier, amid ease in many Covid-related curbs in Karnataka, the State Road Transport Corporation also had said it will restart inter-state bus services to Andhra Pradesh and the Telangana States as per the guidelines of respective States with effect from June 22 based on traffic density and need with 50 percent seating capacity.

Meanwhile, as per the Department of Health and Family Welfare, the Covid positivity rate has taken a plunge in Bengaluru with 260 positive cases being reported against 374 recoveries and one death in the past 24 hours, 1,350 new Covid cases were reported in Karnataka with 18 deaths and 1,648 recoveries. The numbers here also show the declining trend. The number of total active cases was recorded at 7,797 in Bengaluru. A total of 22 children in between  9 years to 19 years have tested positive for Covid in Bengaluru.
