ED purposefully framed Satyendar Jain due to political reasons: Kejriwal

New Delhi: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday described the case filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) against Minister Satyendar Jain as "completely fake," adding that the ED was deliberately framed for "political reasons," claiming that the AAP government has governed Delhi with a zero-tolerance policy against corruption.

"This is a fake case." We have an entirely trustworthy government and a trustworthy political party. We don't do it, and we won't tolerate it if even a single penny is tampered with. You may recall that in Punjab, there was only an audio recording of a minister, and no agency, opposition, or media were aware of it. We could have saved him if we wanted, but we removed him," Kejriwal stated, alluding to Punjab Health Minister Vijay Singla's ouster on corruption charges.

"Similarly, five years ago, I had also removed a Minister in Delhi," he added, defending Satyender Jain and accused the central inquiry agency of unjustly blaming the minister. We don't wait for government agencies to act. Agencies, on the other hand, can behave in ineffective ways. Central agencies, on the other hand, have taken actions that are politically motivated. Satyendar Jain is being pushed into the case. This fake case isn't going to last long. If there was anything in this case, I would have taken action, but there isn't."

The national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) also stated that he personally examined Satyendra Jain's ED case and found it to be absolutely false.

"I personally read the ED's case against Satyendra Jain, and it is completely false and fraudulent." In this case, Jain has been singled out for political purposes," he told reporters during an inspection of a road-building project.

Kejriwal expressed confidence that the matter would be resolved quickly, saying that the truth always prevails in the end and that he had faith in the country's justice.
