Elections for 11 Rajya Sabha seats in UP and Uttarakhand, Commission announced program

New Delhi: After months of silence in the crisis period of the Corona pandemic, now there will be an election in the month of November. The biggest and most interesting contest this month will be the assembly elections in Bihar. Elections are also going to be held for 11 Rajya Sabha seats of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. On Tuesday, the Election Commission (EC) has announced its program. The Election Commission has also declared by-election on the vacant seats of the Legislative Assembly and Legislative Council in several states including Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh. Now in this sequence, EC has announced to hold elections for 10 seats in Uttar Pradesh and 1 Rajya Sabha seat in Uttarakhand. Voting for them in the state legislative assemblies will be counted on 9 November and the votes will be counted from 5 pm on the same day. The results of the Bihar Legislative Assembly, by-elections and Rajya Sabha elections will be released on 11th November.

The term of these leaders is ending: - Among those whose tenure ends in November are SP's Ram Gopal Yadav, Ravi Prakash Verma, Chandrapal Singh Yadav and Javed Ali Khan. The tenures of Veer Singh and Rajaram of Bahujan Samaj Party are also ending. The seat is vacant due to the end of term of BJP's Hardeep Singh Puri, Arun Singh and Neeraj Shekhar. The term of PL Punia and Raj Babbar of the Congress is also ending.
