Srinagar: Encounters between militants and security forces continue in Nawakdal area of Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. During the encounter, a SOG jawan is injured. The encounter began late Monday night during a search operation conducted after the terrorists were present in the area. Due to the fear of violent protests during this encounter, the administration has stopped all other mobile services except the BSNL landline telephone in Srinagar. According to the information received, a joint team of SOG and CRPF started the search operation after siege of the terrorists in the Nawakdal area of Srinagar late Monday. During the search operation, the militants hiding in the area opened fire on the security forces, after which the encounter started. In this encounter, a SOG jawan was injured, who was taken to a nearby hospital where he is being treated. On the other hand, the operation of the security forces is on to kill the terrorists in the area. Giving information, Jammu and Kashmir DGP Dilbag Singh said that the search operation was carried out in Srinagar late on Monday after getting information from a reliable source of police, after which the encounter started.
