New Delhi: Investigative agencies are constantly engaged in tightening the screws on fugitive diamond businessman Nirav Modi. Now the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has attached Nirav Modi's property worth Rs 329.66 crore under the Economic Offenses Act. The ED has reported that the seized properties include four flats in Samudra Mahal Building in Worli, Mumbai, land near Alibaug, a farmhouse near Jaisalmer, a windmill in Jaisalmer, flats in London and residential flats in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is included. Shares and bank deposits are also included in this seizure. Nirav Modi is currently imprisoned in Wandsworth Jail, London with Punjab National Bank (PNB) in debt scams and money laundering cases. Last month, the Westminster Court of London ordered Nirav Modi to be sent to judicial custody by 9 July. The extradition case is going on in the UK against Nirav Modi in the fraud case with PNB, his extradition case is going to be heard on 7 September. Nirav is imprisoned in Wandsworth Jail from 19 March 2019. Nirav Modi and his maternal uncle Mehul Choksi are the main accused in the fraud of PNB for about Rs 14,000 crore, which is related to the alleged forgery in issuing the guarantee letter. Since the PNB scam was exposed in January 2018, the CBI and ED are investigating this matter.
