Ex-Tamil Nadu CM Palaniswami demands from DMK Govt to publish white paper on Covid vaccines

CHENNAI: Ex-Tamil Nadu chief minister K. Palaniswami on Saturday demanded MK Stalin to publish a white paper on Covid-19 vaccines and its usage.

In a statement issued here, Palaniswami demanded a white paper from the Tamil Nadu government specifying five key points. The first point is - The number of vaccine doses supplied to the state by the central government in the past two months.  And point 2 - How many people were given the shots, point 3,  how many people are to be given the second shot, Point 4. How the vaccines received from the central government are distributed to the districts and finally point 5, At the vaccination centres who are all given preference for the jabs.

Palaniswami blamed Stalin and other leaders of opposition for creating a scare about the Covid-19 vaccine while not in power. He also faulted the DMK government for lack of planning on vaccination of people, its distribution and other aspects. Palaniswami said the DMK government has been giving false promises to the people like sourcing the vaccine directly through a global tender; manufacture of vaccine at the HLL Biotech's facility near here and source the vaccine from the market.
