NEW DELHI: An official with the Delhi Police Crime Branch stated on Tuesday that the Crime Branch unearthed a factory in Ghaziabad where Fake Indian Currency Notes (FICN) were being made and detained three people in connection with it. Ashish Jain, Rajpal alias Raju, and Azeem Ahmed were named as the three suspects. According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Amit Goel, information has been received about a covert network of counterfeit cash racketeers operating in Delhi and the National Capital Region. Accordingly, a plan was devised to dismantle the scheme. On May 19, a report was received that a man named Ashish would be coming to New Usmanpur's 1st Pushta to offer counterfeit currency. After that, a police team was formed to set up a trap and catch the accused counterfeiter. FICN worth Rs 1.5 lakh was discovered after his quick search.
