Like farmers, people of Jammu and Kashmir may have to make ‘sacrifices’ to get back their rights: Farooq Abdullah

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir leaders have begun to perceive a light of hope for the reinstatement of Section 370 since the Modi administration announced the repeal of three agricultural legislation. The manner in which Kashmiri leaders respond to the repeal of the Agricultural Law implies that they, too, are beginning to believe that Section 370 will be reinstated one day.

In the same episode, NC President and former CM Farooq Abdullah added that, just as the Centre had to repeal agricultural legislation after the sacrifice of 700 farmers, we must be willing to "sacrifice" to reclaim our rights that the Centre had taken away. Farooq Abdullah told his party workers in Hazratbal on the occasion of his father Sheikh Abdullah's death anniversary that every leader and worker must be in contact with the people of the village and the surrounding area. He stated that it should be recalled that we promised the State sections 370 and 35A and that we are willing to make any sacrifice to achieve this.

At the same time, abdullah added that "tourism is everything" to expand, without mentioning union home minister Amit Shah's remarks on growing tourism in Jammu and Kashmir after Article 370 was repealed. What about the 50,000 jobs you said you'd create? Abdullah also accused the central government of firing those who were already employed.
