Srinagar: In a tragic incident in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district, one person was killed and three others were injured when the car they were traveling in skidded off the road and plunged into a gorge on Thursday afternoon, police reported. The accident occurred along the Judda to Kouri route, near Sawalla Nalla, when the driver of the car, bearing the registration number JK-02-BA-0455, lost control of the vehicle. The car subsequently rolled down into a gorge at Arnas, resulting in the fatal accident. According to officials, the car had four occupants at the time of the accident. The driver reportedly lost control over the wheels, leading to the vehicle veering off the road and falling into the deep gorge. Emergency response teams were promptly dispatched to the scene. The impact of the fall was severe, resulting in the death of one passenger, while the three other occupants sustained injuries of varying degrees. The injured individuals were rescued from the wreckage and transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. As of now, the identities of the victims have not been confirmed. Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident. Preliminary reports suggest that the driver may have lost control due to the challenging terrain and road conditions, but further details are awaited.
