Feroz Shah Kotla stadium to be renamed after Arun Jaitley

New Delhi: The famous Ferozeshah Kotla Stadium in Delhi has been renamed. The stadium is named after the late senior BJP leader and former DDCA president Arun Jaitley. This demand was arising in view of Jaitley's contribution to Delhi cricket. The name of the Ferozeshah Kotla Stadium was officially changed in the presence of former Finance Minister Jaitley's family and the entire Indian team at a function at the Union Home Minister Amit Shah Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium.

Apart from former Indian captains Kapil Dev and Virender Sehwag, Sports Minister Kiran Rijiju, former Sports Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal and BJP leader Manoj Tiwari were also present in the program. Indian captain Kohli arrived with his wife Anushka Sharma, while Team India coach Ravi Shastri also made his presence felt. Amit Shah honored the entire Indian team with Momento. Also, the DDCA also unveiled the new pavilion stand on Ferozeshah Kotla in the name of Virat.

Virat Kohli recently became India's most successful captain, surpassing Mahendra Singh Dhoni in Test cricket. On this occasion, Kohli's journey from under-19 player to becoming Indian captain was shown through video. Team India captain Virat Kohli expressed happiness over his name standing at Arun Jaitley Stadium and said that it is a matter of pride for him.
