Bangalore: Senior Karnataka Congress leader DK Shivakumar was admitted to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital after his health deteriorated. He was treated by doctors here. After this, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) team brought DK Shivakumar out of the hospital at around midnight on Thursday and kept him in the Tughlaq Road police station in Delhi overnight.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) will present DK Shivakumar in court today. It is being told that the ED will seek to extend their detention period. DK Shivakumar has been in ED custody for the past 9 days. Special Judge Ajay Kumar Kuhar had allowed the ED to interrogate DK Shivakumar from custody, the court said that the charges against DK Shivakumar were serious.
Let us tell you that DK Shivkumar is facing the investigation of the Enforcement Directorate in the money laundering case. DK Shivakumar has been charged by the Income Tax Department for tax evasion and alleged crores of transactions. The Income Tax Department had filed a charge sheet in this regard in a special court in Bangalore last year. At the same time, former Karnataka CM and veteran Congress leader Siddaramaiah expressed his desire to meet him, but he was not allowed to meet Shivkumar.
