New Delhi: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is scheduled to hold an important meeting with state chief ministers and finance ministers today. The meeting will begin at 3 pm. In which arrangements are to be made to make efforts at the Centre as well as at the state level to use the present times to encourage economic growth.
Discussion on increasing foreign investment: The meeting is also scheduled to discuss the standards of attracting private investment to boost the economy after two waves of coronavirus. Finance Ministry Secretary TV Somanathan has said that the meeting is taking place in the backdrop of the fast-returning economy after two waves of the corona epidemic.
Meeting to be held through a virtual medium: The Finance Ministry has shared the information in a tweet about the meeting. Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary and Bhagwat Karad are also scheduled to attend the meeting to be held through virtual means. Secretaries of various Ministries of the Central Government, Chief Secretaries of States and Finance Secretaries are also scheduled to attend the meeting.
