Lucknow: UP Police has registered an FIR against the national president of Samajwadi Party (SP) and former CM of the state Akhilesh Yadav. The Lucknow Police has filed a case under the Pandemic Act against Akhilesh Yadav and 28 other party leaders late on Monday night. SP chief Akhilesh Yadav led a protest in Lucknow on Monday after police stopped him from proceeding towards Kannauj, where he was to lead the Kisan Yatra. Akhilesh Yadav was kept in custody at the Eco Garden for about five hours. As soon as news of Akhilesh being detained spread, socialist activists clashed with the police in various districts. Let us tell you that on Monday, Akhilesh was supposed to reach Kannauj in 'Kisan Yatra', but before that the police sealed the area around his residence and party office by putting barricades. When Akhilesh left his house to go to Kannauj, the police stopped his vehicle. Angered by this, Akhilesh sat on a dharna. He was later detained and seated in a police van and taken to Eco garden.
