Fire at Texas ExxonMobil plant injures 4

A fire broke out at the ExxonMobil Baytown Olefins Plant in Texas, injuring four persons. The fire, which first responders started putting out at 1 a.m. on Thursday, was gone by 9.15 a.m., according to a statement from the American multinational oil and gas corporation, media reported.

Officials were monitoring the air quality, but no shelter-in-place orders for residents in the region had been issued as of yet. Two people were treated for burns, a third was treated for a fracture, and a fourth was treated for injuries due to a 40-foot fall.

ExxonMobil refinery manager Rohan David stated, "All other staff at the facility have been accounted for, and we're ensuring that these folks are receiving the finest treatment possible." It was not immediately known what caused the fire.
