First high-level meeting between the coast guards of China and Pakistan held

BEIJING: The China Coast Guard (CCG) and the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) held their first high-level meeting via video link, with both sides pledging to increase maritime law enforcement cooperation. According to a CCG statement, both sides reviewed the benefits of their cooperation in recent years, discussed the direction for future cooperation, and exchanged views on issues of mutual concern during their virtual meeting on Monday.

Both sides have pledged to take advantage of the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan by working together to promote maritime law enforcement cooperation and the development of a maritime community with a shared future.

The Chinese People's Armed Police Force Coast Guard Corps, also known as the China Coast Guard Bureau and abbreviated as China Coast Guard or Haijing, coordinates maritime search and rescue and law enforcement in the People's Republic of China's territorial waters.
