5 people died after drinking poisonous liquor in Muzaffarpur, Bihar

Muzaffarpur: In the Muzaffarpur district of Bihar, 5 people have died in the last three days for allegedly drinking poisonous liquor. According to the information received, the sale and consumption of liquor have been banned in Bihar. In such a situation, a member of the victim's family Khelavan Manjhi has told about this case on Saturday, that 'people died after drinking alcohol in Dargah village of Katra police station area'. At the same time, many political leaders including BJP MLA have also supported Manjhi's claim. Senior Superintendent of Police Jayant Kant has confirmed this case.

He says, "5 people have died in the village". However, in this case, he has categorically denied that 'death is caused by drinking poisonous liquor'. The SSP has suspended the police officer of Katra police station, Sikandar Kumar, after the incident. Superintendent of Police Jayant Kant says "an FIR has been registered against unknown persons."

As soon as information was received about the entire matter, the District Magistrate Pranab Kumar, SSP, and other senior officials reached the village on Saturday and met the families of the victims. The leaders of BJP and RJD went to the village and inquired about the incident. A case has been registered against a police inspector and three constables of the local crime branch in Modasa in the Aravalli district of Gujarat. Indeed, an FIR was lodged on Saturday inside a police station for allegedly hiding more than 70 bottles of liquor.
