Patna: Former Bihar CM Lalu Prasad Yadav is going to be presented in a special CBI court here today under the fodder scam case. And he is undergoing treatment at Rajendra Institute of Medical Science (RIMS). Where he was sentenced to 7 years under the IPC in this case and so many years under the Anti-Corruption Act. At the same time, he was also fined 60,000. Prior to this, the bail plea of Lalu Prasad Yadav was rejected by the Jharkhand High Court. But Lalu had sought bail in the fodder scam case in the 1990s to make a fake withdrawal of Rs 3.97 crore from the Dumka treasury.
According to information received from sources, the bench of Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh rejected the bail petition of the former Chief Minister of Bihar. He dismissed Lalu's grounds for rejecting the plea as not being completed even half the time of the jail sentence he received from the special CBI court. The special CBI court had sentenced Lalu Prasad to 7 years imprisonment in the Dumka case. Let us tell you that the fodder scam worth over Rs 900 crore was done in the Animal Husbandry Department during Lalu's Chief Minister. So far, Lalu has been declared guilty in four cases related to this scam for the fraudulent withdrawal of funds from the treasury. Of these, two cases are from the Chaibasa treasury, while one case is from the Dumka and Deoghar treasuries.
It has also been learned that Lalu has got bail in each case of Chaibasa and Deoghar. It has been noted that he is being heard in the special CBI court of Ranchi in the fifth case related to Doranda treasury. Lalu, who has been in jail since December 2017, is currently undergoing treatment at the Rajendra Institute of Medical Science in Ranchi.
